Brief information on the districts
Tbilisi is the capital of Georgia, translated from the Georgian “warm source”, the old name is Tiflis. It is the largest city of Georgia, located on the banks of the Kura River with a population of over 1 million people. The city was founded in the 5th century. Tbilisi is the ancient cultural center of Georgia. In the southeastern part of the city is its historical core - the Old Town with narrow streets that preserve the features of medieval buildings. The Ananuri Fortress is located in Georgia on the Georgian Military Highway, 70 km from Tbilisi - where the small Vedzathevi River flows into Aragvi. Ananuri served as the main stronghold for the Aragvian Eristaves, the rulers of this region.
